How its mixed charms captivate hearts! No matter how often before this we have attcnded. we would. indeed. we must. go again For ever new it is to us. as new andi fresh as the Monday which giveal it.
Yet how difficult this week will be for rural mothers. to whose children comes also the call to first classes of another school- yenr. To go or not to go. will be the t estion. they must decide. Jamie planning to "go every day to the Fair." Gage who "just has .to go.” Granddaii. 'uer who ”loves
its dtie to step off. out and over ithe hill to make his acquaintance with hi: world of schools on the opening date-what will they do? The week will spin its own tale.
There will be on this farm the bustle of getting the morning chores settled. and the preparation which lets at least the farmers away. And James will say ”l don't. see how we ever managed to get there when we had to drive by horse and wagon the distance. Why it took as long then to clean and harness and hitch the horse .. a fellow had to remember to take a bite of hay for him and his grain as it does now to make the trip." And he. making ready will remember old exhi- bitions and names of exhibitors of stock of those days, he will men- tion. And listening we shall be sad over the many changes evenl on this road of ours and in this district, which the years between have wrought.
