Major Ready took his officer’s training at the Armored Corps School at Camp Borden. Ontar- io, in 1952, and later returned to the P.E.I. Regiment. He promoted to the rank of c a p- ain in 1957.

A well known figure in athle- tic circles in .I. k is a member of the National Fitness Council. and is athletic director at Queen Charlotte High School.

He is married to the former Anne McCormack of Souris and they have five children.

With his promotion. M a 1]. Ready has been named com- manding officer of Headquart- ers Squadron with the P. E. I. Regiment. .

N. Rustico Village Finances Reported In Good Condition

NORTH RUSTICO—Bertram Blacquiene was re-elected chairman of the North Rustico village commission at the an- nual meeting held Tuesday night. Other commissioners are Leo LeClair, Earl Gallant. Al- bert Doiron, Laurence Doucet and Alyre M. Gallant.

The finances are in good shape. it was indicated by the report which revealed revenue of $8.044.23 and expenditure of $6,758.59 for a surplus on the year's activities of $1,285.64. The budget for the coming year was set at $4,815 which will be supplemented by a government grant.

A total of 16 building permits were issued during the year for a period of aizeable develop- mcnt.

A discussion on garbage dis- posal was adjourned to a spec.

Damage Light In Collisions

Two accidents were reported to city police Wednesday.

Daniel Chowen, Charlottetown. driving a . travell- ing west on Euston Street, was in collision with a 1962 auto driven by Mrs. Blair MacRac, also of Charlottetown.

Damage to both vehicles was light.
