The Cadre is the official newspaper of the UPEI Student Union. 2,000 copies of The Cadre are printed 10 times per semester. There are meetings open to anyone Mondays at 4:30 in room 213 in the new Student Union Centre.

The deadline for submissions is Friday at 4:00 PM.

Editorial 2: Find the Hidden Spelling | Mistakes -or- Thank You

Well... We've got one issue under our belts (phew). True, there were moments when I wasn't sure if we'd ever get it finished, but some- how, we managed. A pretty good paper too. Actually, I feel great about the first paper.

We received some incredibly positive feedback. Over the last week there were a lot of good things said about The Cadre. I also heard a few people say "The Cadre sucks"— but that's understandable — please everyone, and all that...

There were a few minor mis- takes of course. I suppose that's to be expected with a first issue. Quite a few mistakes actually. Mostly spelling. To be honest, there were a lot of spelling mistakes. A lot. I assure you, the staff here at The Cadre aren't the bad spellers that you may think we are. It's just that we can't type. Can't type at all.

Hopefully the spelling prob- lem will be fixed in subsequent issues, but I suppose we'll just have to wait and see. Maybe we could have some sort of contest — find all the spelling mistakes and win a new bike or some- thing. Hmmm... Maybe not.
