WIM'I'ER WIPE—UP

We the engineers faithfully supported winter carnival. Most members of our society attended every event.

The word 'most' is used due to the fact that some were rudely asked 'to vacate the sc—called Student Union Barn. Again, as was last year, we dominated the snow sculpturing contest. .You spineless artsies and biologists who challenged us must

feel sarmhat enbarassed. Our sculpture was a detailed forgery of Michael Angelos' "The Slut" which was placed on

top of Robertson Library. We are still receiving cmpliments from the general public. The sculpture will now be'placed inra freezer: for display at the Smithsonian Institute.

Our chugging team, consisting of Bill Phillips, Alan Moore, Alan Aitken, and Danny MacDougall came second in the carnival chugoffs. We acknowledge the good competition and congratulate the winners. -

'IWo weeks ago we in engineering received this letter and were asked to convey it to the "Editor of the SUN".

Dear Sir:

First we would like to advise you that members of our organ- ization read your paper with great interest. Now to explain who we are.

We are a non profit organization called the "Fawcetts Ball Association" which was formed to help the different types of baseball in our area. At present we are building

a softball field on the Provincial Government land behind the Vocational school which we have leased.

Before construction could be started it was necessary to have the land surveyed and levels run. This would incurr (mite an expense to a voluntary agency and make a hole in the funds which we had sex: aside for haul

fill for the project. We contacted that much maligned body, the UPEI Engineers and they sent us three students, Bill Phillips, Phillip Griffin, and Angus Orford. They spent two days running levels and lines and completing the work which was excellent. -

, Now to the rest of the student body the engineers are the uncouth, unwashed, untouchables ’ who spent a program of destruction while attending university followed by years of construction. But to the Fawcetts Ball Organization these are community

salt of the earth.

The Association wishes to inform you that no pressure or solicitation was used on

about 100 %. 'Ib do this we've decided to host an engineeringhockey tournament on the 4th, 5th, and 6th whick will be held at UPEI. Engineering teams from universitites in Atlantic Canada will arrive on Thursday. After their departure on the 6th, a free V.D._ clinic will be held at the Barn on the 8th, 9th, and 10th. So be there early, girls, because it's first come I first served.
