Williams has never used his injury as a prop for an alibi, and he will be out there try- ing to make the grade, but on his form this year high hopes cannot be pinned on his chances.

MONTREAL, Que, sept. 2l.—Cat- tie receipts were 1,016 on the two Montreal livestock markets today. Cattle trading was practically at a standstill, cows were picked out at $3.50 for good. $4 for tops and from $2 to $3 for medium kinds. A few light weight common steers were sold for $2.50 and $3. One load of plain steers, averaging 1,015 pounds, sold for $4.35 the balance of the cattle were not moving.

A total of 46 loads of cattle were received for export to Great Britain leaving Tuesday on the Melmore Head from Montreal and on the Concordia, from Quebec.
