OMAGH. Northern Ireland (AP) Police today began a house-to- house search for wounded mem- bers of a gang which made a bloody Sunday raid ona British army depot in this town near the border of the Republic of Ireland.

Five soldiers were shot or slug- ged in the l0-minute gun battle. Two are in a serious condition.

Police captured eight men they identified as members of the ter- rorist Irish Republican Army. The captives were charged with at- tempted murder.

Army officials said at least two of the raiders suffered bullet wounds and were carried away by their companions.

The IRA is pledged to drive the British out of all Ireland and unite the six British-aligned counties in the north with the independent re- public.
