A fire broke out shortly be- fore nine o'clock last night in the garage of the Conwey apart- ments. Orlebar Street. The fire truck roared up Euston street. followed by several curs Ind dozens of small boys on bicycle and on foot. Inside of twenty

The fire began outside. between the garage Ind the fence border- ing the property. Whether child- ren were playing with fire where some wood hId been left beside the garsge. or I match or cig- arette butt had been left Ilive there. is not certain. -The Commanding Officer of R.C.A.F. Station Summerside has announced that Mr. Foster Hewitt will officially open the Centennial Air Show to be held at the Char- lottetown Airport on July 2. Mr. Hewitt will be the guest of the Charlottetown Wing of the Air Force Association for the occasion and will be guest of honor during the Air Show activities.

Better known to most Cans- dians as "Mr. Hockey." Foster Hewitt's Saturday night hockey broadcasts hIve thrilled young and old alike for over two gen- erations. In that time he attained an almost legendery position among sportscasters and has es- tablished himself Is the dean of Canadian sports broadcasters.

In addition to his broadcasting. Mr. Hewitt has branched farther afield and several years ago founded the Foster Hewitt Broad- casting Company which operates radio station CKFH. He also found time to write two very excellent books on hockey which were near the top of Canadian best seller lists several years ago.

It was significant that when the Penticton V's engaged the Russians in the crucial game of the World Hockey Championships last winter. Foster Hewitt was on hand to give the play-by-play de- scription of the game to millions of listening Canadians. This per- haps gives some indication of the esteem in which he is held.

As I major. Gen. Graham was second-in-command of the Hast- ings Ind .Prince Edward Regi- ment in 1939 when that unit was mobilized. He took command of the unit overseas and later of the 1st Canadian Infantry Brigade in Sicily and Italy. He won the Dis- tinguished Service Order twice.

Gen. Graham hIs served as deputy chief of the general staff in charge of military training. deputy adjutant-general and. be- tween 1948 and 1951. vice-chief of the general staff.

I son of the lute Mr. and Mrs. Charles Monaghsn. He attended the local school. St. Dunstan's University. the GrInd Seminary in Quebec Ind the Cardinal College in Rome, where he was ordained and received his degree of Doctor of Divinity.
