Referendum Results

On April 1-2 the referendum concerning the Student Centre/building Fund was held. Student turnout was 209. The results on the first question concerning the $5 fee were 198 yesand 11 no. Forthe second ques- tion concerning an additional $5 fee (to a total of $10) the results were 145 yes, 54 no and 10 abstain Thanks to the campus police, security, and my com- mittee of ballot counters.

The Libby Petition: Nota real person as some might believe, but an object of much reverence and vile hatred. Disappears in Act II and becomes sought after like the Holy Grail.

Jean Claude Vaughn Jelliffe: The heavyweight of the feminist fatale faction, known for her acid tongue and cut-off letters in the school newspaper.

Bugs Bunny: An alias used by an intrepid spy for the Backlash super hero team. One of the original signers of the Libby Petition.

Tracy Smith: real name unknown. Pretends to be on the feminist fatale side, but often shoots her own troops in the back with poor writing thus killing any chance they have to be taken seriously.

The Doctor: Also affectionately known as Adolf. Guilty of several war-crimes, the worst being

Student Union Council: A group of young men and women devoted to sitting on the fence.

Students/Children of UPEI: Sometimes angry at the war, sometimes apathetic, mostly just confused.

Attitude: Leading role - canbe played by a female or male - perhaps big enough for both.

UPEI STUDENT CENTER/ BUILDING FUND

§ On April lst and 2nd, the Student Union held a refer- endum asking students wether ornotthey werein favor of the challenge of the 80’s student fee, which has now expired being replaced with another fee. Results said YES!!!

A $10.00 fee will be implemented for the upcoming fallacademic year. This fund will go towards the i eventual construction ofa new Student Center. Ho .
