Talk about it.

Write about it

Help to improve it.

Speak well about it.

Beautify the streets.

Advertise in it’s papers.

Patronize your merchants.

Elect good men to the offices.

Speak well of it’s pablic spirited, en terprising citizens.

If you are rich, invest in something, employ somebody, be a “bustler.”

If you don’t think of any good word to say, don’t say anything about it.

Remember that every dollar you vest in & permanent improvement that much on interest.

Be courteous to strangers that come among you so that they go away with good impressions.

Don’t kick at any proposed necessary improvement because it is not at your

own door, or for fear your taxes will be raised fifteen cents.

Don’t use rubber stamps iu your letter heads and envelopes; that is a

“dead give away” on you own business, on the town and the newspaper printed in it.

Don’t let poiitics get mixed up with your business; if you are a_ business man don’t lose the he!p your newspaper can give you because its politics are not your politics, and by all means, don’t advertise to merely help the printer along, advertise to help your business and iown ulone.

Cure of Colds.

Treat your next coli as follows, and

cold water. For breakiast eat a piece of dry dread as large as your hand. Go out fre.ly during the morning. For dinner eatthe same as at breakfust. During the afternooa take a sho:t walk, or epguge in some active exercise which shull produce perspiration. Go without supper and retire early. The next

moruing you will be nearly well. If instead of this you stuff che cold, it will stay a week or two, and wind up

A Sensible Horse.

At the recent Horse Show, New York, duriog the exhibition of the jumpers, the horse of one of the gentleman riders leaped the 5 tt. 8 in. bar, but in coming down struck head first, made a complete somersauit, aud threw himself on the ground flat ov his back; the rider being pitched ahead, cleared the horse, For-

tunately neither rider nor animal was seriously injured. Afler this most narrow escape the rider again mounted

and endeavored to make the horse try the same ju'ap again, bat the creature show- ed more sense than the man by resolutely declining the dangerous jump.
