Few men have, retained the high measure oi "deuce. ad- mirstion and aftection that have characterized the life of the late Mr. Wood. He was a kindly man. with a bright. youthful outlook on life. lie was a man oi sound judge- ment. and wise counsel. re- tained throughout his busy and fruitful career the abiding respect of all, old and young. Mao had the p vilege of his acquaintance. In the community and the home. his memory will long be held in lov- 1113 r S ance.

His passing leaves to mourn a sorrowing wife. his faithful com- panion for on years of happy mar- ried life: one daughter Mary. Mrs. Bragg. at home: one son. Walter. Mt. Herbert; three grandchildren, Leonard. Mt. Herbert; Pauline. Mrs. Dlinald Macloeod. Tomato; Lnurdrene. in the Honor Course in Home Economics at the Uni- versity of Toronto; one great gr it-daughter. Nancy Anne Mac- Leod, Toronto.

He is also survived by the fol- lowlng brothers and sisters. Sey- mour. Mt. Herbert; Matthew. Cross Roads; Mrs. William Stew- art. Charlottetown; Mrs. Jane Bal- iem. Souihportz. and Mrs. Ida Lane Regina. One sister. Mrs. sealord Acorn. and one brother. Henry. predeceased him.

The funeral services were con- ducted Monday at the home at Southport by the Rev. T. R. 500419. of the Pownal United Chuldl. assisted by Rev. G. W. Tilley. A beautifully rendered solo.

The large concourse following the remains to its last resting place in the Mount Herbert Cem- etery. bore ample evidence to the flna character and service of an outstanding and worthy citizen.

Brooklyn Has 4-H Calf Club Meeting

The Brooklyn 4-I-I Calf Club opened its first meeting on Ap- ril izth at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Macltlnnon. The vice- president. Billy Benton. called the meeting to order. Wayne Mac- Ktnllon was elected president. Malcolm Macltinaoa was elected secretary treasurer. and Linda Bieren was elected reporter.

It was decided that the next meeting is to be held at Alexander Macl(innon's on April 20th. The debating subject is "Should Girls the pro side were Beryl MacKln- non. Unda Bierell and Wayne Macltlnnon. On the con side were Bldr Macxinnon. Malcolm Mac- Pherson and Lois Mscltinnon. The leader of the club is Archie MacDonald.

The meeting was adjourned and a delicious lunch was served by Mrs. Maclltinnon.
