the Bonshaw Women's Institute met at the home of Mrs. John MscPhsil on Monday evening. May 2nd. President presiding. opened the meetim with the Ode followed by Creed in unison. Nine mem- bers answered the roll call with an article for a sale. Minutes of previous meeting were read and approved. It was moved by Mrs. Stewart and seconded by Mrs. Buchanan and carried that the bills presented be paid. The president. vice-president and sec- retary were appointed to form a. Premier McDonald Dutiines Platform

HALIFAX, May 25-—(CP)—Pre- mier Macdonald ssid in a state- ment tonight that if his Liberal Government is returned to power in the June 9 provincial election it will proceed with highways and public works expenditures totalling $100,000,000 during the next five years.

The Premier earlier had given a keynote speech in the election eam- paign at Kentviile and tonight's statement covered much of the same ground as he had gone over at that time.

Other highlights of the platform: 1. Public works, now a $5,000,000 business annually, probably will become a separate department to enable highways officials to give their entire time to purely road transport problems.

2. Early appointment of an edu- cation minister and further expan- sion of land settlement activities. 3. Revision of the common school curriculum, improved teach- er training. improved normal col- lege facilities. $1,000,000 in grants in cities nnd towns desiring to build ntotlern high schools nnd five more rurnl high schools in nfltlitlon to the four built recently or now under construction.

4. New buildings and expansion nf. old facilities lit the Victoria General Hospital, Nova Scotia Hos- nltai, Nova Scotia Sanatorium. Nova Scotia Training School. branch laboratories where requir- ed throughout the Province and ap-
