Cricket.

{ very pleasant game of cricket was played at the park 8n Saturday afternoon last between members of the Charlottetown Lawn Tennis Clab and the Park Cricket Club. Play commenced at 3.15-—tennis players to the bats-—and after some very good playing were disposed of for 69 runs. The Park Club then went to the bat and put together 116 runs, beating their oppon- ents by 47 runs. The batting of Ings, Brecken, Weeks and Newbery, for the ten- nis team, was very good; also the playiog of Rundle, Mellish, Murray, and D. H. Robinson for the Park Club. On account of two members of the tennis team being unable to play, Messrs. Newbery and Brecken went to the bats twice, and made some splendid hits. Quite « large number of the ladies interested were present. After the game was over refreshments were supplied to the players by some of the ladies belonging to the tennis club. A re- turn match will prrbably be played next Saturday. The following are the scores :—

Ecos.—The arrivals have been moderate, and there has been a good demand for ail choice freah stock with a further advance im prices. Strictly new laid eastern are firm at 20c. P. E. Island, N. S and N. B. have been selling well since Monday at 18c

Poratrogs.—Receipts have been much lighter this week, and the market has been Working into better shape. For the past three days there has been a steady demand at about 50 to 55 cents for good eastern stock, with extra Houltow Hebrons ranging up to 58c.

Poutrry.— Receipts of weatern iced have been pretty full this week, especially towards the close, and some lots of chickens had to be closed out. yesterday at 10c Fowls sold at 11 to 12c per lb, the latter for very choice. Northern chickens and fowls in limited supply and steady. Ducks in fair demand. Live fowls have been selling fairly at lle.; chickens, if choice and large, bring 12c. Ducks steady at lle,

Fisu.—Cod continue in moderate sup- ply, steady demand and firm at quotations. Box herring ruling lower under the liberal supplies. Barrel herring steady. Macker- el coming forward slowly and bringing high prices.

We regret to learn that Venerable Arch- deacon Weston-Jones was so ill yesterday that he was unable to take the services in St. Paul's as usual. He is; however, much better to-uay.
