Annual Meeting held at Montaguc—List of Officers elected. The High Court of Independent Order of Foresters held its annual meeting at Montagve on Thursday and Friday the Llih and 12ch inst. Thefirst session was held on Thursday eyening at 8.30 o'clock. The Ligh court degree was conferred on forty delegates, after which the various committees were nominated for the trans~ action cf business. The reports of the High Court cflicers were read and = on motion handed over to the committee on distribution. E. Birch, R. H. McDonald, Revd’s. Mr. Kirby and Gillis, all of whom spoke in ihe interests of Forestry. A public insta)lation of the officers elect took place, afier which a hearty vote of thanks was tendered the good people of Montague by the High Secretary on behalf of the visit- ing brethren.

Mexico City, June 11.—Details of a eyclone whch devastated the town of Topae, State of Jalisco, have just arrived. It was accompanied by a waterspout, which detached from the sides of the mountains enormous masses of rock and earth, and mud was piled up in the streets of the town to a depth of eight feet and in some places to the level of the lower branches of trees,in which the inhabitants had climed to escape the inundation of waterand mud. Three-fourths of the town was utterly destroyed. Thirteen bodies have been taken out from unaer the ma3s of eartu, includiug children. Many people were so serioasly injured that the last rites of the church were adminis- tered. More than 30 persons are missing and it is expected that their bodies will be discovered under the debris. The storm was a most terrific roaring of water and at the same time the wind was blowing a hurricane. Every one has been impover - ished by the wholesale ddstruction,
