The gay. young, prankish side of life in a military academy is the story setting for "About Face." Warner Bros. Technicolor comedy. due Monday at the Prince Edward Theatre. Gordon Macltae, Eddie Bracken, Dick Wesson. Virginia Gibson, Phyllis Kirk and .Allcen Stanley, .lr.. head the musical cast in the film directed by Roy Del Ruth. ”

"About Face" concerns the an- tics of three cadets ncarlng grad- uation at Southern Military In- stitute. Two of them, Gordonand Dick, become involved in a series of mlrthful escapades when they try to help Eddie, their buddy, who against S. M. I. regulations. has secretly married and is soon to be- come a father.

The resulting situation provides ample opportunity for comedy and musical routines with singer Gor- don Macllae, Eddie Bracken and the lovely ladies carrying the lead numbers. Among the more color- ful production specialties are the graduation exercises and the hon- fire rally on the night b"---- the big baseball game.

A jury empannelled to inquire into the death of John Francis Ziiaclsaac, 24. whose body was found on the shore near Naufrage on June and found that the de- ceased came to his death by acci- dental drowning.

The deceased left souris May 27 with Mr. Basil Chapman in the only afternoon and drove to Nau- girage. Maclssac got out about one and a half miles from his brother's home. He then went to the village and remained there most of the evening and about 9 p. m. went to the home of James Eldershaw where he remained for some time. Between 10 and 11 p. in. he went to the home of Elmer Gallant which he left shortly after. It was pre- sumed that he went in the direct- ion of the breakwater. ..'DlES IN FLORIDA-Word has been received by Mrs. Oharles Vickerson, Montague. that her brother-in-law, Mr. Herbert Vick- erson, passed away yesterday in Tampa, Florida. Mr. Vickerson will be remembered by many friends in Montague where he was a frequent summer visitor. He was the last survivor of a. large family whose home was in Hermitage, P. E. I. Burial to take place in Fla- ride.

Installation of the machinery to modernire the plant of -the East- ern Pisherles at sourls was ex- pected to be completed yesterday. The machinery is designed for the fish meal plant and test batches have already been run. It is ex- pected that it will be in full op- eration by June 15.

The cookers installed have a capacity of 15,000 pounds of offal. It takes 10 hours to cook a batch. but the drier it is the quicker it cooks. The cooker is operated by a '15 horsepower diesel engine and attached is e. as horsepower holler which is fully automatic and which supplies the steam for the cooker.

The offal, the fish residue which is not used for human consump- tion, is carried to the top of the cooker by a conveyor belt. In emptying the cooker the meal is forced out an end door by paddles which are inside the cooker. Af- ter the meal is cooked it is put through a large-capacity hammer mllrwhic grinds it to a. fine pow-

ioo-pound bags. The fumes from the cooker are carried off by a 6-inch pipe throug a condenser and eventually out to the water in the harbor. At the some time plans have been made for the installation of more cook- er machinery lf it should be re- quired. - '
