NIGHT IN ACCIDENT

A shocking tragedy took the life of John Bertram Knox. 42-year-old aero engine mechanic with Mari- time Central Airways about ten o'- clock last night as he worked on one of the company's planes in the hi rt hangar here.

1 is reported that the late Mr. Knox was engaged in hecking the lock on the undercarriage of one of the planes when the mechanism tripped. allowing a part of the weight of the plane to crush him between the wheel and the nscelle. which is the portion of the plane's fuselage into which the wheel folds while the aircraft is in flight.
