Welcome to the first annual Panther Prints Alternative Calendar Survey! The results are in, the numbers have been tallied and the answers speak for themselves. The numbers may seem small, but we still feel that the results are a good overall view of students opinions on the courses they take and the professors they take them from. You might disagree with the results, and if you do, maybe you should have filled out a survey.

The courses are listed just like in the UPEI Calendar, from 100 level going up to 400 and 500 level courses but going top to bottom, not right to lett. If you have any questions about the survey please contact the Panther Prints office, we would be more than happy to explain how our survey is put together. The answers you see have been submitted by UPEI students from all different faculties and courses.

The purpose of this survey is to:help guide students towards courses they will enjoy, and away from courses they may not. We encourage you to use this when registering for courses next fall. The idea is from the University of British Columbia's pubication "The Yardstick". We thank them

for the inspiration and some of the questions. ; We admit that we are only human and that there may be errors in the data collected but every step was taken to ensure accurate data.

Your Guide to how the Survey Works

The stats for each course are listed in a vertical strip. To find the rating for the course, just trace a line from the question to the appropriate number. For the example above we see that E. Bunny is teaching Basket Weaving 101. The five numbers below are the average of the results from the course evaluation forms UPEI students filled out. The numbers range from 1 (poor) to 5 (excellent) and their percentile equivilants are displayed in the scale above. For example:

For Question 1, the student's average response was 2.8 which works out to 45%. For Question 2, the class’s average rating was 3.4 or about 60%.

For Question 3, _ the student’s average response was 4.2 or about 80%.

For Question 4. the student's average response was 5.0 or about 100%.

For Question 5, _ the student’s average response was 4.3 or about 83%.

And five out of the twenty students enrolled in the course responded to the survey.

Obviously the course Basket Weaving 101 is fictitious, as is the professor E. Bunny.
