Student Exchanges

Interested in a student exchange? It is a great way to experience a new culture while receiving an education. Students have the choice of going to the Eastern United States, Florida, New Mexico or Australia. If you are interested, drop by Student Services and ask for Lynette Barrett. Office Hours are as follows:

Tuesday 8:30-10:00 & 1:30-4:30

Thursday 8:30-10:00 & 1:00-3:30

Friday 8:30-10:00

Any students interesting in providing typing services for other students and who wish to have their name and telephone number added to a list made available to students at large, please contact Dianne at the Student Union Office on the first floor of the Barn, or call 566-0530. The University of Prince Edward Island is presenting an Archaeology Lecture by Dr. Moira McLaughlin, Foren- sic Anthropologist from the University of New Brunswick. She will be presenting a talk on “‘Stories the Dead Can Tell’’ on Thursday, November 16th, at 7:00 pm in Lecture Theatre A of the Atlantic Veteri- nary College. Special thanks to UPEI President Dr. E. Epperly and the UPEI Sociology and Anthropology Society for making this lecture possible.

The Red Cross is now accepting registration for the Fall/Winter Learn to Swim program. During this session, lessons will take place at the Dutch Inn on Thursday evenings and at the Kirkwood on Saturdays. For more information call the Red Cross at 628-6262. 10. Willing to intimidate op- posing schools fans, forcefully if needed.

11. Last but not least, must have an iron liver (get the pitcher?). All UPEI students are wel- come, but must be of legal drinking age. Must be willing to attend every

game.

Dear Editor:

In PEI each year the Humane Society is forced to euthanize 1800 cats and dogs. We are trying to form a commit- tee who would advocate animal welfare on the island. One of our primary goals would be to eliminate and eventually stop euthanization of animals as a population control method. Enforcing regulations which would require spaying and neutering of cats and dogs would be one method to achieve that goal. We would also empha-

size the importance of educating the public. -

about the benefits of spaying and neuter- ing, and would like to distribute informa- tion targeted to raise public awareness about this crisis.
