[have known him only as a Street Pedler of Maps and Cheap Publications, until about two years since, when he was hired by some unprineipled men to lend the lraudn'ent use of his name to confuse and distract the public mind, that they might pirate the property which I pos- sessed in the Remitation of Townsend's Sarsapariila, which had cost me thou- sands and tens of thousands of dollars.
