The Tryon Mills have closed down for a short time to refit and prepare for the |spring trade. Reid Brothers have found a wenderful increase in their business lately, nv doubt arising from the fact that their cloths now rank second to none manufactured in the Provinces. Skilled labor has had much to do with the present satisfactory condition of affairs, which is amply proved by the durability, superior finish, and variety of pattern given to the various fabrics by the present excellent Superintendent, Mr. G. W. Miller. This }is as it ought to be, and we want more skilled labor to keep the Island ahead.

The Church of England has placed in vse, as a Mission Chapel, the old school- house at Victoria. At stated times ser- vices are held by the Rev. Mr. Johnson.
