They, however, do not differ from ether stock in their need of sunshine. A young pig ie like a flower, it must have plenty of sunlight to enable it to develop and grow to perfection, and we believe that many a litter has been serious- lv injured thr ought the lack of sunshine.

T iis point wa® very forcibly brought out by one of our correspondents lately. We think a great mistake bas been made in this respect in the building of many pig- geries. Too often only meagre provision has been made for |! ighting the piggery, and pone whatever for giving the pigs a sun- bath dusing the winter months, The piggery should be situated in euch a way that the sun can shine into the pens a good partofthe day. It might be necessary to put in a few more windows to do thie, but it will pay todo so. During the summer the glaes cau be removed and the opening covered with a piece of sacking as a ecrcen to kee, out the sun aud the flies,

ply of sunight. A brood sow should always have a bright olace in which to
