ROAD COMPENSATION ACT. PUBLIC NOTICE.

HEREAS the Undersigncd, by Commission bearing date the .

day of April, have been appointed to enquire what damage or advantage will accrue to certain parties through whose ‘, Land 9. New Line. of Road is to run, North and South of the Ellis River Bridge, Lot 16, to meet the new Bridge now in course of erection there.

We do hereby give Notice that we will commence the execution of said Commission, by attending at Mr. Peter McGregor‘s, at Ellis River Bridge, at the hour of 10 o’clock, in the forenoon, on SATURDAY, the 27th day of MAY next, and thence proceed along the said new line of Road, and complete said Commission according to Law.

' HEREAS it appears that divers persons in certain parts of this Island have associated, or lcagucd together, for the purpose of counselling, aiding and assisting one another in resisting the lilaymcnt of certain Rents, which they became legally bound to pay, as Tenants, on certain Townships in this Island.

And whereas it has been brought to my notice that an Ofﬁcer of the Law has recently been violently obstructed and prevented from discharging his duty by persons who have so combined as aforesaid. issue this my Proclamation, warning all parties Concerned in such unlawful combination that, in attempting to carry out such purposes, they do oppose themselves to Her Majesty and the Laws.

And I do command and enjoin all such persons immedi- ately to abstain from all such unlawful associations.

And I do further command and enjoin all Magistrates, Sheriffs and other Ministers of the Law, and all Constables and Peace Ofﬁcers, and all other loyal subjects of Her Majesty, to discourage, by every means in their power, such unlawful combination, and to give their prompt aid and assistance, when lawfully required, in opposing, preventing and resisting all persons, whomsocvcr, who shall take part in any such unlawful combination, and in arresting and bringing to justice any such persons offending, or having offended as aforesaid.

And I do further solemnly warn all persons that it is my duty to see that the Law shall take its course, and that

I shall cause it to be obeyed and respected throughout the Island.

Given under my hand and the Great Seal of this Island, at Charlottetown, in the said Island, this Twenty-second day of March, in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundredand sixty-ﬁve, and in the Twenty-eighth year of Her Majesty’s reign. By Command,

SEALED TENDERS will be received by the Undersigned, at his Ofﬁce, Charlottetown, until WEDNESDAY, the 10th day of MAY next, for the erection of a LIGHT IIOUSE at the NORTII CAPE of this Island, agreeably to a Plan and speciﬁcation to be seen at said Office.

The signatures of two good and sufﬁcient men, willing to become bound for the faithful performance of the work, will be required to accompany each Tender.

Y virtue of a writ of Fieri Facias to me directed, issued out of Her Majesty’s Supreme Court of Judicature, at the suit of Alexander Brown against Lazar Buote, Fidelle Peters, Maximo Peters, Andrew Peters and Leon Buote, I have taken and seized as the property of the said Lazar Buote, Fidelle Peters, Maximo Peters, Andrew Peters and Leon Buote, all the right, title and leasehold interest of the said Lazar Buote, Fidelle Peters, Maximo Peters, Andrew Peters and Leon Buote, in and to two hundred and thirty acres ofland, a little more or less. with the buildings thereon, situate on the Cavendish Road, Township No. 23, in Queen's County; and I do hereby give public notice, that I will, on the 18th day of May, 1865, at 12 o’clock, noon, at the Court House in Charlottetown, in said County, set up and sell at Public Auction,

Y virtue of a writ of I‘icri Facias to me directed, issued out of ller Majesty’s Supreme Court of Judicature, at the suit of Charles l’alincr, against llugh Fraser and James Currie, I have taken and seized as the property of the said defendants, all the right, title and leasehold interest of' the said James Currie, in and to one hundred and seventy acres of land, situate on Township No. 22, in Queen’s County; also all the right, title and leasehold interest of the said llugh Fraser, in and to fifty-two acres of Land, situate on Township No. 21, in the said County; and I do hereby give public notice, that I will, on Thursday, the 23rd day of March, L65, at the Court House in Charlottetown, at the hour of 12 o’clock, noon, set up and sell the above recited properties, era. much thereof as will satisfy the levy marked on the said writ, being £55 35. 8d., with interest on £42 from the 27th February,

1864, till paid, besides Sheriff's fees and incidental expenses.
