Turr News —It is said that local horse- men et Grand Rapids, Mich., will organize a stock company and try to buy Aleryon, 2.15, from Frank Noble. Stamboul is reported to be doing well at Stockton, and will take a shy at his mark some time this month or early in November. The two-year old filly Alma R, by Red Wilkes, has been sold to J. T. Hughes, of Danville, Ky., for $1.500, and the six-year- old mare Katisba, 2 294, by Ben Franklia, to private parties for $1,500. The London Sportiog Life says this has been the most successful season for the trotting horse of any that has been ever held in England, and that the interest in trotting races is increasing and will probably becom2 the fashionable sport of that country. The pneumatic tire sulky, constructed on the same model as the one used by Nancy Hanke when she trotted to her wonderful records, made its first appearance in England on Sept. 26, at Alexandria Park. It isthe opinion of the English driver that the small wheels with pneumatic tires are far superior to those that have the larger wheels. THere is not and there cannot be, any smoking tobacco superior to the “‘Myrtle Navy brand.” A wrapper of brighter appearance and higher price it is possible to get, but all wrappers are very poor smokin tobacco and but a single leaf is wrappe round a plug.
