Forced troim home by firs. they returned, running up two flights o! stairs. The baby was thrown out of a second-storey window by his lather into the arms o! a neighbor. Both parents were over- come by smoke. Their bodies were found side by side.

BAPTIST SUNDAY SCHOOL CHRISTMAS CONCERTS

The Charlottetown Baptist Sun- day School held its annual concerts on Monday and Tuesday o! last week..., and despite the stormy weather were well attended.

The Beginner and Primary‘ Depis, entertained their parents and friends on Monday afternoon, with a varied program o! recitatlons, songs and excerclses, directed by Miss. Margaret Ballern. Supt. of the Depts. assisted by Miss. Margaret MacEwen and Mrs. Frank Johnston, Jr. with Mrs. J. D. Davison as accompanist. A feature ot the entertainment was the reciting oi "Twas the Night Before Christmas" with amazing accuracy and expression by three year old Linda Ward. At the close of the entertainment and to the tune o_i' Jingle Bells. the one and only Santa. Claus (A. T.) appeared and distributed candy and fruit. to the boys and girls and also presented gifts to the scholars on behalf of the various teachers. Mrs. W. J. Drake, Honorary Super- intendent of the Department. pre- sented mittens to the children hav- ng the highest percentage of at.- tendanre. Mrs. Drake who has been identified with the Sunday School for over for y years received a re- tncmbrarice from the School. Roll all was ennui-ed by l5 members. Three new members and more-l visitors were welcomed. The rdports o! the committees were then heard. Several sick calls were made. Both schools need scrubbing during the holidays and Cavendish School needs two new blinds, s. hand basin and dunking cups. The new committees were authorised to get same.

It was decided that $.00 be spent for a treat o! truit {or Cavendish school children (committee to get same) and that all members make candy so “eat children. H/ustlco school teacher to be given $5.00 to buy treat (or children. Discussion followed about prizes for school children and it was moved and seconded that a prize be giiven each child from the district who passes entrance exams. A committee or Mrs. Alfred Moore. Mrs. M, J. Doyle and Mrs. Roy Woolner was appointed to talk it. over and carry it through.

Correspondence was read about school lunches and T. B. Bonds. A report o! the executive committee was then heard and the following program for the year was presented by them:
