Capt. I). instantly bore down towards her, when she proved to be the Albion, of Cork, crowded with passengers. llaving reached within hail of the unfortunate vessel, a heart-reading scene presented itself. \Ne beheld—says Capt. 111-»an brig reeling, ere she took her last fatal plunge—wit- nessed the cool intrepidity ot' the sailor, even at such a moment—~and listen with feelings the most harrowing, to the piercing shrieks of the ill-fated passengers. The crew of the Kingston tlung their best boat into the boiling Atlantic; but exertion was vain; the angry OCean soon made her its prey. The Albion went dowu, with every human soul on board.

The Ship Hope, from London, for Que- bec, ran ashore onthe S. B. Point of Flint Island, about 8’oc10ek on \Vednesday mor- ning last, havmg On board 95 passengers: —-these were safely landed; and 14 wo- men, ‘25 children, and SPVPt'ttl other of the passengers havejust arrived in Sydney. A Mr. Hector, a most respectable and ve- nerable old gentleman, and his sons and daughters, with their families are amongst the number.-—The passengers were all got on shore by a hawser extended from the bowsprit, in a large tub attached to it. The materials ofthe Ship are expected to be saved. The vessel herself will be lost. —Cape-Bretonr'an, of .May 25.
