appear without giving an extremely serious excuse for absence,

forfeits his or her right to present evidence on his or her own behalf. The SJC shall give the defendant one week to explain a failure to appear, and shall then hold a meeting to decide on

a course of action.

Four voting members must be present throughout the meeting of the SJC and at the time a vote is taken on a disciplinary measure.

§. Fines levied by the SJC and not paid within the time stipulated in the SJC decision shall be referred to the University Businéss Office for collection.

F) 1. Appeals against a decision of the SJC shall be directed to the Senate Committee on Discipline Appeals within two working days. of the decision of the SJC.

All decisions of the Senate Committee on Discipline Appeals are final, unless the student wishes to be represented by legal counsel, in which case the Board of Governors is the last court of appeal.
