by the strong emotional writ- ing style that they have evolved. However, the book is very good readinnghen one comes to the section on the I.T.T. and the C.I.A. Here the author sticks to hard facts. The fact that the I.T.T. offered the Republican party $400,000 if Allende was overthrown is just too significant to gloss over. As I had only hhand rumours of such a deal before reading this book, it was quite start— ling to see the proof.The book also reaches home in describing the massacre of six hundred Chilean students after the over—Y
