There was a good attendance, and the meeting was of a most helpful and inspiring character. Rev. D. Sutherland presi€ed, A number of bymns were rendered with spirit by the choir. Mr. M. Steveneen and Rev. Mr. Manifold led in praver. Mr. Sutherland, Mrs. Matheson and Rev. G. M. Campbell, Presittent of the Maritime Endeavour, each gave short and poiated addresses. It is hoped that this meeting will be followed by ovbers.

Scapen Deara.—The friends and acquainiances of Mr. Robert D. Pyke, cativet maker, willvhear with regret of his death at the City Hetel vesterdey morning about a quarter of eleven o'clock. It seems that Mr. Pyke has been suffering from a stomach affection*for some time, and for about a week past Dr. McLeod has been treating him for nkeeration of that organ. Dering this time Br. Pyke hasbeen acle to move about the house. Yesterday morning he left hie bed-room for be sittimg room and was in ‘the act of opening the doer when he ‘é@l. He was promptly piwked up and placed in a chair, where he dicil a fe w miwetes later. the ontcome of the ulceration, evidently censed death. M.. Pyke was buried in thee People’s Cemetery thie afternoon, the femera! leavieg the hotel at 2 o’clock.
