MONTREAL (CP) - A 14-year- old Montreal boy is on his way home from Miami, Fla.. after be- ing ordered deported during the week-end for entering the United States illegally.

Francis Joseph Mulcahy ran away from home July 21 with 20 cents in his pocket. hitch-hiked to Niagara Falls. walked across the railway bridge into the U.S.. and kept on hitch-hiking. t

Ha was picked up by immigra- tion officials in Miami. W. G. Munro. special inquiry officer. or- dered him sent back. The boy told officers he had no particular des- tination in mind when he left home. He said he had to beg food along the way.

GARBAGE DISPOSAL DISCUSSED LAST NIGHT BY MONTAGUE TOWN COUNCIL

"rho monthly meeting of the Montague Town Council was held last. night with Mayor 8. H. Yeo. presiding over a full attendance of councillors. The session was open- ed by the reading of the minutes of the last meeting which, on 3 motion by Councillor McGowan, seconded by Councillor Fraser. were adopted as read.

For their reports of their oom- mittees, Councillors Greene. Rey- nolds, Hessian and McGowan said that nothing new had taken place and that everything was running smoothly in their cpmmittees.

In the report of the sanitation tommittee under Councillor Arthur Fraser. a. great deal of interesting discussion was aroused by a letter written to the council by a resident concerning the disposal of garbatzc. FOR MEAT INSPECTION PURPOSES

A new proposal that the city make a yearly grant of 81.000 to the new killing plant for meat inspection purposes was suggested to the City Council yesterday by Mr. Woodrow Wheatley, who has long advocated the erection of a public kuling plant with adequate nspection supervision.

Originally the company of which he is a director had requested tax exemption and yesterday's proposal is in lieu of that.

He felt this might get many farmers "up in arms". Mr. Wheatley said there were many farmers in the company and pointed to the 546 :ars of dressed meat which went to Newfoundland last year and re- marked that no company owned here got any benefit from the business.

some keen competition is ex- pected to develop in the Ayrshire Judging ring in the Coliseum at the Exhibition Grounds today and it will be mostly between the Bos- wells and the Macnaes.

There are a lot of Macrtaes this Year. The old firm name of A. Macklae and Sons is back again. But so are several other Macnae herds. This year the herd of An- drew B. MacR.ae and Fred T. Mac- Rae is showing for the first time. Then there is Darla Macliaa of New Wiltshire who is back with some fine looking Aynhires. And there is D. Fred Macias of Hunter River with some promising looking cattle from his Rivermere Farm herd. '

The firm name of A. MacR.ae and sons has been prominent in cattle rings and in record Ustings ever since Miikmaid 7th set a two- year-old world record for milk production some forty odd years ago. Up until this year Fred Mac- Rae showed his cattle under the herd name.

The Boswell herd showing this year is that of Keith Boswell and Son of Victoria. And they have some interesting animals in their stable.

Glengarry Bit 0 Fashion was practically unbeatable in provincial and Maritime show rings for many years. He was brought to the pre- vlnce some years ago by H. W. Clay who is now senior livestock fieldman for the Dominion De- partment of Agriculture.

Shaw, former Deputy Min- ister. spoke on behalf of that de- partment. "It is a great show in every department," said Mr. Shaw. "and I doubt very much if any show in Canada can surpass it." Mr. Shaw noted that a happy com- bination existed in the fact that the Exhibition provided both edu- cation and entertainment. He re- ferred to the new Exhibition as a milestone in the history of the As- snciation and termed it an out- standing contrlbution to the econ- omic and educational progress of the Province.
