Supreme Court Al Georgetown

The adjourned sitting of the July sesion of the Supreme Court of King's County was held at Georgetown yesterday morning with Chief Justice Thane A. Campbell presiding.

The first case was the Queen vs, Joseph Gabriel MacDonald, char- ged with rape.

The Grand Jury brought in a lrue bill. Mr. S. S. Hessian, Q. C.. acting for the crown made 9. mot- ion ior a stay of proceedings in

this case. The motion was granted. Mr. H. F. McPhce, Q. (2., ap- peared for the accused.

In an appeal case, under the

Excise Act, in Wi".ili'l evidence was taken at the court sitting in July, the Queen vs. Quentin Dennis Mossman, the Chief Justice ruled that the decision of the stipend- iary magistrate be reversed and the conviction and sentence .quashed. No order was made as to 'costs.

LONDON-(CP)-A jet airliner capable of carrying 150 passengers between London and New York is on the drawing-boards of the I-Iandley-Page Company. The plans envision a two-deck craft with a 25-ion load capacity.

Brit- ten of Oenttll Bedeque as Clak. Following mcmlng devotions and I welcome from the East Point pas- tor, Llc. Donald Mcclare, Rev. Mr. Britten presented the Keymurs Report which showed I consider- ablerfinancial increase to Denom- inational Funds. Rev. Mr. Killam reported for the United Baptist Bible Training School. stating that several graduates plan further study for foreign mission work or for the ministry at home. The school is almost free of debt and plans to construct I . sidence.

This year concluded 20 years as Supt. of Island Minion Bands for Mrs. Ives. The general report was read by Mrs. J. A. Clark of Charlottetown and showed a 8400 increase in moneys raised. with the Knutsford Church leading the P. E. I. Honor Roll. Mrs. A.K. Mac- Phee of Charlottetown reported that the past year was best in some time for Mission Bands.

The guest speaker was Mrs, Henry Aliaby, Sum. of the Maritime Un- ion's White Cross gmlsslon relief Wonk, She reviewed the Baptist missionary heritage and history am- ong the Telegvus of India. Mrs. Al- laby stressed it as I. God-given but to minister to the I76 churches in the community of 100,000 in 24 mis- sionary areas.

The evening service featured the ordination of Lie. Donald Mcclare In the ministry. Rev. W.G. Kil- lsm presided, and Rev. M. Watter- wonth of New Glasgow, P.E.I. read scripture.
