List of the Officers Selected.

Ottawa, Dec, 28.—Hon. Borden gave out the list of the officers | of the contingent last night with the exception of the two squadrons to be selected in Manitoba and the North- west from the Mounted police, ex- mounted policemen, rough riders and others.

Instead of sending three squadrons of mounted riders, as at first decided upon, there will be now two squadrons | of mounted rifles and two squadrons of mounted policemen and others. This will increase the contingent to over 12,000 in strength. The mounted in- fantry will be a separate organization irom the other two squadrons. The commissioner of the Northwest Mount- ed Police is now organizing them and their officers will be announced later. The batteries remain as already an- nounced.

With the exception of the two ir- regular squadrons all the officers as follows :— Canadian
