Tue steamer “Summerside” has been with: drawn from the Shedixc route. On her trip from Point du Chene last night she was unable to reach Summorside ba: bor and was ‘obliged to come to this port. To-day at two o'clock she left here for Summerside. She will carry the freight lying there to Pictou, and after clearing up freight at Summerside she will, for the remainder of the season, ply between Pictou and Charlottetown.

Tue annual meeting of the New Glasgow Literary Society will be held in the hall at that place on Monday the 10th inst. After the election of officers for the ensuing year, Geo. Smith, Esq., Vice President of the Society, will entertain the meeting by giving his experience of “‘A voyage from England fifty years ago.’ Mr. Smifh’s well-known ability as a public speaker will, no doubt, secure for him a crowded house.-—-Com.
