April 17 was the next extra fine day. Off we went to Appin Road, Beth Robinson and I, with orange paint, brush, and snowshoes. Beth went ahead to locate the trail markers; I followed and marked trees along what appeared to be the path of least resistance. At Green's Brook there was a large flow of water which we did not attempt to cross. Climbing the 250 ft. rise in the mile back to the Appin Road is the wrong direction to walk that section of trail - especially on soggy snowshoes. It was good to find only about six trees down across the trail even though this section had not been cleared up last year.

Starting Monday, May 15 before the flies get out and each fine evening following, we intend to have walks on the trail and clear off branches and trees that have fallen. For the first walks we should meet at 6 p.m. at St. Catherines at the junction of the road from West River Bridge and the West River Road, and then proceed to points westward.
