Our paper has been delayed until this day [Tuesday] from the same before-mentioned cause. The Mail arrived this morning, bring- ing- Halifax dates to the 6th inst., at which date the harbour of that place was frozen over, so as to admit of the passing of foot pas- sengers and sleds from Dartmouth with safety. Our European dates are nothing- later than those already before tlzepubhc; indeed, local matter keeps pressingr in upon us so as to ex-

The House met agreeably to the pre- vious days adjournment. The Tresspass Bill was read a third time, passed, and sent to the Council. At two o’clock the House attended his Excellency the Lieutenant Governor in the Council Chamber. when he ga’ve his assent to two Bills relating to the Statute Labor and High Road Laws.

Between two and ‘three o’clocka Message or Deputatioii was sent to the Governor, on the return of the Members the doors were closed and kept so until seven o’clock, when the, House adjourn- ed until one o’clock nextday.
SATURDAY, MARCH 16.
Very shortly after the House resumed busi- ness. the doors were closed on a case of Privi. logo. and continued so until between five and six o’clock in the afternoon, when the doors were opened; and some resolutions reported to the House from the Committee of Pert— leges, on the subject ofa conversation which took place between some Members of the As. sembly who waited on his Excellency, as report edyesterday.
