Mr. Blanchard was welcom- ed by Carol Ann Perry. chair- man of the centennial celebra- ations for children.

Mr. Blanchard outlined the llistory of Tignish from when he attended Tig- nish school which was compos- ed of two rooms in 1803. also outlined Confederation. stressing the role of P.E.I. in it. He pointed out the advant- ages of the move but deplored the fact that so many Islanders are moving away from the pro- vince. '

Mr. Ross spoke briefly to the students and left them with centennial souvenirs. The ses- sion was concluded with the singing of Our Island mn.

With the opening bell in the afternoon the students enjoyed a day of sports. Refreshments were served during the sports activities and the final race was run at 5:30 pm. The following are the results of the sports action.
