Her many iriends in Kelly's cross. and in many other districts throughout. the Island. were sad- dened and shocked to hear oi the sudden and untimely deeth ~01 Mrs. Louis Hagan. which took "place in the City Hospital, Char- bttctown, on the early morning n! December 20th. i941.

Tho late Mrs. Hagan, who was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wil- llarll K. liarkin oi St. Peter's Bey, was in her thirty-seventh year. having been boin at St. Peter's uay on July 23rd, 1911. She re- relVEd henesrly education st. St. Peter's end later attended Notre Dame Academy in Charlottetown ior some time. She later spent some time ill the United States, and in I936 married Louis Hagan or Kelly's Cross and resided in that district irom en until to the time of her su en and sad death.

At the same time oi her death her in- frmt daughter. Margaret Anne. was claimed by death also. Pour NLIIPI’ children also predeceased liar. nil having died in infancy. One daughter. Lucy. aged nine. is left uiiIl the sorrowing husband to mcul-n the loss oi. and to cherish the mcrn-ory oi. a iond and loving wife and mother.

Also among those left to mourn their loss are her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. K. Lsrkin. st. Peter's Bay; two bro- thers. Joseph end John Lei-kin of Ft. Peter's: and three slsiersJiMry (Mrs. wrn. McQuald) oi South Holvliic, and Misses Cecelia and Moi-lira oi Ottawa.

home on the morning oi Dec. 23rd Joseph's Church. Kelly's Cross. and was very largely at- tended. Tile pastor, Rev. Wilfred Krcic celebrated the Requiem lligii Mass and also recited the VUIILIIIIEII service st the grave. ‘Present in the sanctuary also was Rev. L. J. Ayers. 8' 101m” pastor.

Prior to the formation oi tne committee on commodity prices, it is expected that J. Watson Mac- Naught, Liberal member ior Queen's will seek renewed sssul- ance irom Finance Minister Ab- bott that there wlll be no price ceiling imposed on potatoes "at grower level". Other legislation oi particular interest to the Island Province which will be considered within the next fevw months includes amendments to the veterans’ char- ter with a clause prohibiting the reduction oi pensions being re- ceived by veterans oi World Wat l. Further pensions concessions are also expected to bring about e realistic relation between disabil: lty pensions and the cost oi liv- lug. An interdepartmental committee is at present engaged in discuss- ions with members ci the newly- formed Maritime Commission with a view to strengthening the pro- visions oi the Canada Shipping Act with regard to saiety ill cust- ni and inland waters. Members from Prince Edward Island are certain to give strong support to this project and also to the pro- posal to iorm a coast guard ser- vice analogous to that operated, so successfully tor many years b. the United States Navy.
