Dickieson brought up from jail and tried betore the Magistrate. He Was recom- mitted to jail by the sheriff and several constables armed with pistols. The Tenant Leaguers attempted to rescue him. The con- stables used their ‘battena' pretty freely and stones were thrown by the mob and considerable of excite- ment. Several persons were pretty badly hurt by the constables and police but the prisoner was conveyed to jail without any serious injury being done.
