Domixioy Day.—The Ist of July has always been a great day in athletic circles in Charlottetown, and thie year’s Do« minion Daysports promises to eclipse all past years, but asour city observes Sunday they will take place on Monday, the 2nd. They will differ some- what from previous years as it is intended to combine the usual athletic contests with a grand military display, including 46-lb. gun drill and shift, tent-pitching, heads and post cavalry competition, heavy marching order race. A magnificent trophy will be presented to the militia company which scores the highest aggre~ gate number of points.

Assembly will purchase tickets for Halifax on the Steam Navigation Company’s boats and will receive from the purser staudard Certificates. The sums of $400 and $175, sent to the Cen- tral Council (Toronto) and $42 46 expen- ses, amounting in all to $617.46, deducted, leave a balauce of $7.79 ou hand to meet some smal! bills. Letters from Dr. Hodgetts were read ask- ing thata list of the names of purchasers of pins and buttons (the society’s badges) be keptto be enrolled as membera of the Canadian Branch of the British Red Crose Society. The rules for local branches were read and the constitution and rules were adopted en bloc.

The report on the sale of pins and buttons showed cash received $20.90 with a halance of $3.70 to be vert handed in. This amount of $24 60 will also appear to the P. E. Island branch’s credit in the Centre] Council’s books.

A very cordial vote of thanks was given to Lieut. Charles Leigh for kind- ness in assessing the value of goods, and packing and labelling them for transporta ticn, e Cc.

Tbe president personally thanked those members who had so regularly attended the sewivgs, aud given their time and sympathy in the preparation of the ariiciles con‘sined in the box, which is valued at $47.63 acd 1ow awaits orders for shipme:t from the Central Council. The members of the P. E. Island branch are to be congratulated on their good work, when they realize that since the new year they will have sent to the Central Council in c+sh $575 00, to Dr Ryerson person- aliy $100.00, and goods to the value of $467.00,making a moat excellent showing ot over $1,000, in fact surpassing most of the otber branches (50) in the time.
