One of your all-time favourite articles in the X-Press is back. That’s right, those three wild virls who love to pig out are back again to entice your pallet and empty your pocket- book. Last week I attended a staff party at the Magic Wok restaurant (Maypoint Plaza), and

Yes, those rumours you heard floating around last week are true. Larry Gowan did indeed play Apothecaries last Wednesday night. He was good, darn good in fact. Of course I never actually got to see the man behind the voice because there was such a crowd in front of him. But that voice was quite enough for this world-weary reporter.

Going in I was uncertain as to how the evening was going toproceed. After all Apoth- ecaries is a small alternative bar with little stage space for a star of Gowan’s calibre. To the credit of the bar they pulled it off, and a good time was had by most.

Larry took the stage at about 11:40 and played for an hour and ten minutes. He sang all the old favourites and a few of his personal favourites which were never released as sin- gles. His voice has radically improved over recent years and the emotional content of the music is far more intense live.

The concert went off with minimum difficulties. The crowd was into it and got downright mean if you tried to cut in front of them. So my companion and I sat at the back of the roomand listened to the beautiful sounds of the songs we grew up listening to.

SUMMER COURSES: We registered for the course, paid the course, took the course, fin- ished the course. Sounds simple right? Wrong. Then we got the adjusted bill. How unfair! In real life, that would be like going to a restau- rant, eating a meal, and having them call you two weeks later to say that you owe more money. And what’s to say that UPEI won’t do it AGAIN.

PERMISSION TO PAY LATE: Why is it that you still have to pay late fees when you get permission to pay late?

STUDENT LOANS: Need we say more?

COMPUTERS: What is with the e-mail lag... maybe this does stop some of the abusers, but what about those of us who are using e-mail for

THE CLASSROOM IN THE ALUMNI GYM: Who’sidea was that? A perfectly good gym was ruined, there must be room some- where else on campus. And its not as if its a great classroom either, voices echo, birds fly through, and to heat it the entire gym room must be heated regularly. Why not give the gym to a needy group like the theatre society, and find a classroom somewhere else.Thats what bugged us this week, if you have some- thing that bugs you, e-mail the X-Press.
