I. They have the commandments of Jesus, and keep them.

11. The rich blessings that follow to those who keep Christ's com- niandments.

1. They have the commandments of God, not only the ten given at Mount Sinai, but also Christ's new commandment, to love one another, and also all the commands He has givea in His blessed word ,all of which are given for instruction in

There is a class that hears and many of whom know the comm d- ments of God, and speak well of them, and yet have no interest in what they hear. They love His com. mandments and endeavor to keep them, and to all such as thus con- duct themselves, the Lord accepts that they keep His commandments, because they do it in the spirit. He sets to their account that they love Him. David said: 0 how love I Thy lawi it is my meditation all the day; and all that David had in the Mosaic Law was but little in com- parison with the gospel we have. The saints under the Old Testament Dispensa- tion loved the instructions of God's word, and thus gave proof of their love to God, and Christ is God manifest in the flesh. The love of God and the love of Christ is the same divine changeable love. All who have the commandments of God, and keep them, love Jesus. The great duty entrusted to the church was to send the Gospel to all the world, that they might learn the way of life, know the Gospel, learn the commandments of Jesus Christ, and keep them, and thus show their love to Him. Unless peo- ple have the commandments, they cannot keep them, nor can they show their love to Jesus, but will

He bestows the benefits of His love on His beloved ones. He makes all things work» to- gether for their good. He sees the, snares that satan is laying down for ‘ them, and frustrates his wicked pur_ pose, breaks his snares, and deliv- ers His beloved out of his meshes? The steps of the righteous are di- rected by the LorduHe is always mindful of His beloved, and watches over them; yea, has given Christ charge of them, appointed Him their shepherd. His eyes are always upon the faithful or the land; He that keeps Israel He slumbers not nor sleeps.

Our Creator is God the Father, who is the Creator of all things. Creation is of the Father, Redemp- tion by the Son, and Sanctification by the Holy Spirit. The work of the three persons are in beautiful order. First Creation, which must neces- sarily take place first, second Re- demption, which must necessarily take place before sanctiflcation. But none of the three works men- tioned is subordinate. They are co- ordinate. God is represented in' three persons performing-the three great departments of Creation, Re- démption and Sanctiflcation. 2. Christ loves those that have and keep His Commandments.

To those He has promised His love; and His promises never fail of accomplishment. Such as keep God's comma ldlnonts have the promise of the love of God the Father and the love of Jesus Christ. The Divine love is the same in both. The Father loved us so as to give His Son for us. When God gave His Son for us, He gave His greatest gift. Christ ls God's unspeakable gift; and was given for the salvation of sinners.

Christ in His love came to this world to seek and to save that which was lost. They were evidently dis- pleased, but satisfied with condi- tions as they were. Their language implied that He had acted with too much boldness. They considered that they themselves were the Lords of the Temple. Their opposition to Christ continued to Him throughout His life and work; and finally brought about His crucifixion.
