He recalled personalities of yesteryear. in- cluding relatives. clergy, teach- ers, associates and friends who had such a profound impact and influence on their lives. He re- counted also many of the events which they had experienced. and the many blessings which were bestowed upon them, dur- ing their married life.

The remainder of the day and evening was passed in exchang- ing greetings and reminiscing and in the enjoyment of music and dancing. In early evening. a repast of sea food was served and enjoyed by all.

Of their six surviving chil- dren. two sons and three daugh- ters were. able to be present for their parents‘ anniversary. J. NEW YORK. N.Y. — Today the nine Island ladies. winners of the 1962 Guardian - Patriot New York Tour Contest. and Mrs. J. Carruthers. who is ac- companying the winner, Mrs. George Ives on the trip begin a week-long round of activities.

After a dinner in the hotel’: Coral Room. the ladies in ct groups of winners from similar contests held by various news- papers at a coffee party and here too they were briefed on the week's activities by the tour =manager.

Today. after breakfast at the Governor Clinton Hotel's coffee shop. the tour really got under- way. The morning will be devot- ed to a sightseeing bus trip with a lecturer aboard pointing out places of interest. The route in-

New York. with stopovers in Chinatown for a visit to a Chin- ese temple. in the Bowery and Park Avenue. A conducted tour of the world famous St. John the Divine Church is also in- cluded in the morning's agenda. After lunch, the ladies will be free to do some shopping and then back to the hotel to pre- pare for the evening's entertain- m nt.

Dinner this evening will be at the Hotel Piccadilly, with com- plete “Smorgasbord" service and a fantastic array of food to tempt even the most discrimin- aiing tastes.

After dinner the ladies will see Broadway and New York's _ ng musical production "Camelot": then back to e ‘hotel for a good night's rest in preparation for tomorrow.
