When I started to make the Abbies’ Stew, to have it hot ready for all opponents, there was thrown into the pot eight or nine good, 31011118. red-blooded male beeves from last year. I started out with high hopes. Then the cooks began to disagree. Each one wanted to add an ingred- ient which he was sure would make the stew better. First there was a hiale sheep thrown in which did not Improve matters. Then a lamb or two and then comes some old weth- crs. with still no improvement. Next comes some fresh young beef. If anything matters were getting worse with each cook adding his own spec- iul ingredient Just the same. The poor coach had to mix the stew. But it was still not satisfactory. So a billy-goat or two were thrown in. Then the pot began to boil. Next happens the billy-goats start butting around and buttcd out some of the last year's simon pure beef leaving the stew not as strong as it; was be- fore. So after one helping he butts them right In again. And it was "on again, off again, on again SEEN- ANIGAN." This made the other prime beeves cross and they started butting themselves.
