Before the public accounts committee yesterday, Bradley, Secretary of Railways and Canals, acknowledged that his son had drawn twelve months’ pay at sixty dollars a month from the department, while all the time at college in Toronto studying medi- cine, He said his sun had special leave of absence from Minister John Henry Pope. This was in 1883 4.

Other evidence was received establishing charges of embezzlement against - Talbot and Dionne, of the Public Works Depart- ment.

McMullen enquired into the selling of the contract for the Napanee public build- ing, but his informant had deceived him, aud his scandal fizzled.

The London and Westminster Bank has been robbed of ‘a very large amount of money, reported to be anywhere between three-qaarters of a millioa and a million and a quarter dollars, The parcel of bills were stolen from the bank premises.
