- A very quiet wedding took place on Friday. May 2 at 4 p.m. in Central United Church, Calgary, when Muriel Blanche, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Sobey, Scarle- town, exchanged 'marrlage vows with Armel Stewart. son of Mrs. Bruce Macxlnnon and the late Mr. MacKinnon, Graham's Road, the Rev. Gerald B. swltzer of- flclating.

The bride looked very winsome in a powder-blue suit. with pink accessories and wore a corsaga of maiden-hair fern and pink roses, while her attendant. Mrs. Lionel Ford, wore a navy blue suit with white accessories and a acreage of Talisman roses. The groom was attended by his brother-in-law, Lionel Ford.

The.brlde's only jewellery was a single strand pearl necklace with matching earrings, gift of the groom.

The bridesmaid received a gold compact, gift of the bride. while the best man. a leather billfold, gift of the groom.

After a delightful reception at Eamons on the Banlf Trail, the happy couple left by train, amid showers of confetti and well wishes for their home in Graham's Road, P.E.I.. where the groom is engaged in farming. .

Prior to her marriage. the bride was tendered a linen shower by the employees of Anglo-Cant dian Oil Co. where she was a valu- ed employee.

reading oi the minutes of the last annual meeting and the previous monthly eating which were ap- proved as read. . An ' financial statement was given by the tress , Mrs. A. 0. Hughes, showing a255.03 raised during the year and 0281.65 disbursed, leaving a bslanos on hand amounting to 817.88.

Mrs. Joseph Croken in her pre- aldential report thanked the di- rector Rev. Eugene Murray for his attendance at the meetings and for his spiritual advice for the wel- fare of the catholic Womenis us- gue, and the members for their co-operation and good work.

A report of the years activities, given by the score , Mrs. Thomas Sullivan, showed 11 month-

tiendance of 18 members.

Rev. Eugene Murray in his re- marks voiced appreciation for the cooperation of all members of the sub-division and expressed the hope that this loyalty would con- tinue throughout the coming year.

He also stressed the sdvsn of a film projector and Mrs. Aus- tin Murphy was appointed to take up the matter with the National Film Board.

Ways and means of raising lunds were discussed and it was decided to have a play presented in Em- erald hall in June.

It was moved and seconded that the roll call for the next meeting be answered by each member do- hating a sympathy or set-well card.

There were two new subscrip- tions received for the league magazln . It was decided to send get-well cards to several sick mem- bers and to Rev. Francis MoQuald. a former pastor. Mrs. Joseph Cro- ken invited the members to her home for the next meeting. There being no further bmlnas the meeting was then adjourned and the act of consecration to the Blessed Virgin was repeated by Father Murray.
