A Carp.—The undersigned hereby ten- ders his heartfelt thanks to his neighbors and friends, from both far and near, who turned out so manfully on the afternoon of the 18th, to assist, if possible, to save his dwelling house and any other property which might possibly be saved from the out-buildings, which, unfortunately, were totally destroyed with almost the entire erop of hay and grain, and a portion of the implements and machinery. Also, for the praiseworthy manner in which many of the younger men acted in staying the whole night endeavouring to put ont the fire and watching the other effects from the devour- ing element.
