As the ice in the harbor thickens. however. more and more of these houses will do: the harbor and Bedeque Bay and by spring a hundred or more will have congregated and formed the annual shanty town industry. Many of those who haul these tPmDDrary abodes to the harbor do so with a view of making some extra money during the win- ter months but many more do so merely for the sport and pastime. The weather man has provided ice in Summerslde at last anrl winter sports will now he able to commence. The Crystal Rink will be open for skating on Saturday afternoon and evening and on Tuesday the first hockey match of the season will take place between the Crystals and the R. C. A. F. The Kins-rnen outdoor rink open- ed last night with a fair sheet of ice which should he better today as last night's skating would smoo:h off the rough spots. it is planned to have benefit skates tn- nlght iFridayi and again tomor- row night. This is a means to raise some money to help defray the expenses of operation.
