LETTER FROM MR. WALTER LOWE.

Sir,—I understaud that Hon. D. A. Mc- Kinnon, and Mr. Irving, and the Leader of the Government, and their canvassere ere circulating a report tothe effect that the Government bas settled with me regarding the Falconwood Asylum Annex, a some ofthe electors are justiy indignant at the disgrace which has been cast upon ovr Province and the injury they have aone to me by their action regarding the building of the assylum annex. In order that the electors may not be deceived by their false representations, I wish to state positively that neither :he Government nor any per- eon on its bebalf has made any settlement with me regarding my contract. I offered the governinent to refer the matter to turee disinterested arb:tratore, or if they prefered a suit in court, | asked them to give me permission to sue. The Govern- ment have refused both.

About a year ago, I gave Mr. Donald Nicholson av order on the Government for $1,980 to cetile an accommodation he gave mein the Bank of Nova Scotia for ma- terial I put on the Asylum ground. This was refused acceptance. Now the Govern- ment has paid the amouot of the order with interest and costs incurred by Mr. Nicholeon in trying 'o recover his money,
