Died Saturday Al Brudenell
The death occurred at ner home in Brudenell on Saturday of Mrs. Margaret MICLRTCII in her 76th year. The deceased was the daugh- ter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Marin Nicholson, of Milltown Cross.
Left to mourn her passing are a son Alden at the home in Brude- neil. a granddaughter Verna, a brother John William Nicholson, Milltmvn and a sister. Mrs. Eliza- beth Maoswain, Cable Head West. A daughter predeceased her in 1923. . .
The funeral will be held today at 2 olclock from her late residence at Brudenell to Brudenell Ceme- tery.

ST. JOHN'S. Nfld.. (cm --The Newfoundland board of trade said today it hasn't as much optimism as the provincial gov- ernment for the success of the island's new industries.
A delegation Friday completed a tour of Newfoundiand's 15 gov- ernment-flnanced industries and a brief today said it was "not en- dorsing the wisdom of establish- ing those industries."
The report. however. said "the board has no information regard- ing the marketing of the goods they produce. their competitive position in the matter of trans- portation costs, efficiency of out- put and financial obligations."
"But." the report said, "the board cannot share in full meas- ure the optimism displayed on certain occasions by the govern- ment as to the ultimate success of these industries."

A Scenes At Wood Islands Boat Races

Warm weather. a light breeze and a partly clouded sky made a perfect setting for the annual boat races held at.Wood Islands Saturday afternoon which were attended by a large crowd.
The main feature of the day. the boat races. drew the atten- tion of the throng. and they re- ceived many thrills from the fast races and close finishes. Togeth- er with the races. sports events were held under the direction of Brig. W. W. Reid and Mr. Art Perry of the Department of Phy- sical Fitness.
Many other amusements were held on the grounds. including bingo. novelty booths. bazaars and other games, and during the aft- ernoon and evening a delicious ham supper lvas served by the

Dr. Albert E. Inga. Veterinnr: Surgeon, has opened an office It Montague this week. Dr. and MM Ings, (the former Constance Mair of Georgetown) have taken up residence at the home of Mill Agnes Annear in which Dr. Inga" Office will be located.
Dr. Inge was born at Mount Herbert, and completed his early education at Mount Herbert and Prince of Wales College. He. then attended the Ontario Veterinary College at Guelph. Ontario, for five years, where he graduated with a degree of Dr. of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Toronto. and on completion joined the Provincial Veterinary Services of P. E. 1.. and set up an office in Souris where he remained for two years before oomlna tn "anta- gue.

....'The regular meeting of Hill- side Lodge. I.0.0.F.. Montague, was held Tuesday night with N. 6., Brother Gordon Coffin presiding. There were twenty members pres- ent. The second degree was con- ferred on two candidates with Brother James Dewar acting as Noble Grand.
D. D. G. M. Brother Malcolm Maoxenzie gave the highlights of the district meeting which was re- cently held in Charlottetown. A small levy was placed on each mem- ber of the Various lodges on the Is- land for the purchase of an em- blamatic pin for the District Dep- uty Grand Master. This year the pin wil be presented to Brother Malcolm Macxenzie on his retire- ment from office in August. The secretary was authorized to pur- chase the pin so that it may be presented to Brother Maoxenzie.
After the meeting closed, sand- wiohes and cake were served the members by the lunch committee.
