Miss Cook and Miss Goodwin came directly from Tatamagou~ che, N.S.. where they received training as 'United Church of Canada caravan workers at the Atlantic Christian Training Cen- tre. They are in Alberton to as- sist - in. conducting vacation schools during the coming fort- night. A vacation school for the boys and girls of Alberton and Cascumpec United Churches will be held in Alberton each morn- ing beginning on Wednesday and cotinuing throughout the follow- ing week.
Beginning one week from to- day there will be an afternoon vacation school at Tignish. It will continue through until Friday.

Before Magistrate R.S. Hinton at Summerside yesterday a resi- dent of Carleton Siding was fined- $100 and costs and his operaborfs license automatically suspended for three months after pleading guilty to a charge of driving while impaired.
The case of a Summerside resi- dent, found guilty of creating a disturbance, was adjourned for sentence until July 31st. Fonr Summenside men were each $20 and costs or 15 days for being intoxicated in a public place. Pleading guilty to possession of liquor all: St. Eleanor’s, a party was fined $25 and costs for pos- ession of liquor not purchased from a vendor.

At the R.C.A.F. Station, Sum- merside, Sunday. about fifty Re- gional Supervisors and Chief Olb- servers throughout the province received initial instruction on “Can-scan”, the new system for reporting aircraft.
Another change has been made in the new system by coding the observation posts which are off the normal air routes and which will report all aircraft that are seen or heard.
Group No. 2 includes the posts which are located along the re- gular air routes and these will report low flying aircraft and emergency matters.
