Bank of P. E, Island vs. John Ings— Judgment was deli vered in this case yester day evening, setting aside the verdict ob- tained by the defendant, on the ground that the verdict was contrary to law and evidence,

Wiggins vs. Larkins—Tried some years ago. Judgment was delivered yesterday evening, ordering judgment to be entered for the defendant on one count of the declaration, and for the plaintiff on the re- maining counts.

Mr. Hodgson, on affidavits and certifi- cates, applied on bebalf of, Howard M. Churchill, an American citizen, and of Henry He srmans, a German, for certificates of naturalization. Mr. Churchill and Mr. Hermans both teok the oath of allegiance to Queen Victoria. The cgurt made the necessary order for their admission as British subjects.

When the court opened this morning, the Chief Justice read a letter purporting to be written by P. 8. McNutt, a defendant in a suit before the court, which had been received by Mr. Justice Peters through the General Post Office, in which letter the Judge was entreated, for reasons therein mentioned, to refuse a new trial in the case referred to. The court, considering the writing of such a letter highly improper, made an order calling on Mr. McNutt to answer for his alleged contempt on Monday next.
