The Bill to incorporate the Sisters of Charity, of Charlottetown, was passed.

The Butter and Cheese Protection Bill was advanced astage or two.

The Mill View Creamery Bill passed the second reading

A message from His Honor the Lieut.- Governor was presented to the House with accompanying despatchesfrom the Secretary of State, Ottawa, showing that the acts of the last session of the House of Assembly of this Province were approved. A Bill relating to the registration of a certain Deed there recited, passed the second reading.

‘The Pill to incorporate the Herald Print- ing Company, also passed a second reading.

A Petition of the City Council of Char- lottetown was presented by Hon. Mr. Mc Leod, setting forth that doubts have been cast on the borrowing powers conferred on the city by the Statute now in force, and in order to set at rest such doubts, and de- finitely to declare the meaning and intent of the said Statate they the City Council pray for the engctment of a declaratory Statute in relation thereto.

The ice on the Orwell River is in a very unsafe condition. While fishing tom eods ye iay, Mr. Jehn Jos. McDonald broke through the ice, and after going down twice managed to get a firm hold of the ice and drew himself out. Fortunately for Mr. McDonald the tide was at a etand, and the current was not sirong enough to draw him under the ice.
